Part 1
Backstage Scene
Read & Understand
It is one hour before the show. The venue is a dark club that smells like old wood and guitar cables.
Oskar is backstage with the band. The drummer is doing a quick soundcheck – the snare drum sounds
like a cannon. Oskar's hands feel a little cold. Is that stage fright?
The guitarist from the support act leans against the wall. "Tonight is sold out," she says.
"Every single ticket." Oskar nods. He checks the setlist on the wall – twelve songs, plus one
song for the encore. The headliner – that's Pizza Death – goes on last.
Someone knocks. It's a security guard. "Five minutes!" The band puts down their drinks.
The noise from the crowd outside is getting louder. From the mosh pit you can already hear
people chanting the band's name. Oskar smiles. This is it.
